after graduating i went to california and than new orleans...I joined the marines in 1964 and served with the ninth marine regiment,3rd mardiv in vietnam 1965-1966...returned to victoria in 1967 and married linda massouh...attended university of houston and graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree (painting and design) in 1972, our twin boys, john and kevin, were also born the same year...i've pursued my art career ever since...worked for palais royal as vice president (visual merchandising/store planning) and retired after 21 years in 1993...my most recent art accomplishments have been exhibits in new york, chicago, houston, galveston and of course gallery exhibits in the clear lake area...i continue my artwork and play and collect guitars (yeah, i'm a slacker)...my wife fran and our dog dweezil live on clear lake in league city... my twin boys, john (resides in san antonio) and kevin (resides in victoria) are both married...fran and i have eight grandchildren...

School Story:

yeah, i was that little guy with the loud mouth...me and miss vickers/mr. lipscomb were definitly not strangers in the principal's office...always saved my lunch money so i could hook some cheap wine for the weekend dances at the westerner and schroeder hall...miss shields was my art teacher and between me and the gehring twins.. may "god rest her soul"...

Darryl was the first friend I made when I moved to Victoria and attended Crain Jr High in the 8th grade...coming to Texas from Niagara Falls, N.Y. was a "cultural shock" and people like Darry, Clarence Batts, Ronnie Sirmon, and other local "riffraff 'were kind enough to help me thru this bizarre transition, lol. We were the "highdiving clowns" at Pleasure Island in the summer, first ones in line for the dances at TAC or The Westerner on Friday nights, attended each other's weddings, mutual military stints during the 60's...Darryl, you will be missed!
